Robin Spielberg - Residency/Educational Programs
Music Therapy
As Celebrity Spokesperson for The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), Robin leads workshops in the power of music as healing. Working alongside a certified music therapist (arranged by AMTA), the artist gives a 20 minute 'informance' presentation which is then followed by a 30-minute demonstration by the certified M.T. Sessions are conducted in hospitals, community centers, schools and concert venues and are geared toward anyone interested in learning more about the link between well-being and music.
Workshops/Seminars
Suited to all age groups and levels of piano, students perform rehearsed pieces in a 'recital' setting. Input is given following each player's turn. The workshop also includes a brief performance by Robin and talk which covers the Artist's journey to her current career in music as performer, record label executive, publishing founder, recording artist and composer. Q & A period caps the session.
The Master Class
Well-suited for college and university students studying composition, this session focuses on piano performance and composition. Working with each student, Robin teaches the student of music how to find the 'emotional backbone' of each piece. This is achieved through visualization, music analysis, the composer's input and gentle coaxing with Robin as faciliator. The journey from music on paper, to music being performed and experienced is addressed in steps. The result is expressive and truthful performance. Meet the Artist
This session is available following a formal concert appearance and can be set up as a Q & A period with the audience or in a cocktail-hour type reception. Note: Presenters may wish to reserve this session for their best patrons on an opening night, fundraiser performance etc. as it works best with groups under 100

Letters
Dear Robin, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your help and work with me this morning on my composition, "Airs From the Highlands". In every section that I was struggling in, you helped me understand how to make it more beautiful and fitting. I gained more than I ever thought I would in the short time that you spent with me, and I thank you for the confidence and encouragement you gave to enable me to do my best. Whatever happens in my musical future, I will always remember and put to practice what you taught me. Thank you again for sharing your time and talent, and may you have a wonderful tour!
Sincerely,
Christy Averill
Dear Ms. Spielberg,
I was at the master class you taught for Linda Kennedy's students at UALR March 24, and I wanted to thank you for your suggestions and comments. I have sent my compositions off to contests and got the judges' comments back... but not much that was truly helpful in developing my composing. Your comments to me and the other students have, on the other hand, been very helpful and have made me see composing in a different light...I'm very inspired now!
Sincerely,
Emily Gaddis
